Ferrari F430
As long overdue as this review is, because of how good this car is it does deserve a review/analysis and a place here on Supercar Updates. To start off the review I can tell you (if you didn't already know) that this car is the predecessor to the 458 Italia, a brilliant car which I haven't properly reviewed yet. Designed by Pininfarina yet again, the F430 was the successor to the 360 modena, a pretty ugly car in my eyes but one that fared well for its time. The 430 boasts a 483hp engine (should be pretty similar to the output in bhp) and, as the name partially exposes, a 4.3 litre V8 engine. The 430 has a top speed of 196mph, and a 0-60 time of 4 seconds. Very nice performance for a car that is Ferrari's mid range, as there doesn't need to be a car better than the Enzo for that time frame. The aesthetics of the car, upon first glance, do leave something to be desired. It can look disproportionate at certain angles and the wheel arches are very large and do add some shape to the car, to some it ca be a good thing but to others can not, but it all contributes to science. The air vents at the front help to direct air straight to the engine to keep it cool as it gets to the high speeds in short times, and the down-angular curves increases the downforce, leading to an increase in grip and therefore stability during cornering. The front lights are a bit of a silly design, as they are longer than they are wide, meaning less surface area for there to actually be illumination and a further travel time for the light (not that it matters, light travels at 299 792 458 m/s, and the extra 30/50cm won't really affect that too much. To end off Ferrari could have tried a little bit more on the aesthetics department at making it look good while maintaining the whole "science wins" bullshit, but it ends off at a car that is as manoeuvrable as Shaquille O'Neal, but unfortunately as beautiful as (insert offensive speech about ugly woman here). I won't do that. I'm nice.
