Mclaren MP4-12C

Mclaren have finally decided to announce the pricing for the MP4-12C. £168,500. And that's a whole lot of money, yet significantly 1Grand less than the 458 Italia. A few mistakes with them making the price 1000 pounds less is because the 458 Italia comes standard to my viewing with Carbon Ceramic Brakes as standard, but on the Mclaren they are a £9770 option. Mclaren say though that the brakes on the MP4 still could just compensate for no Carbon Ceramic Brakes. The looks of the MP4 though are rather amazing, especially in their main color- Orange (though it does look a bit gold-ish). The mid-engined 12C is powered by an all-new 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 with a dry sump and flat-plane crank. It produces 600bhp and 443lb ft of torque, 80 per cent of which is available from less than 2,000rpm. It will weigh just under 1,400kg, quite light for a full fat full-on supercar. The revolutionary section about this car remains unseen by users, as it lies underneath the bodywork. The thing I'm talking about is the new carbon-fibre tub, which is a new design designated to save weight, and it certainly does. It only weighs 81KG, quite light. It will be on sale from the first half of 2011, so sometime next year. Will it be a true rival to Ferrari? We just have to find out...
